Job description

Description
This position is responsible for creating artwork to the customer specifications. This includes creating and digitizing artwork for use in the embroidery production environment. The position will interpret work orders based on the direction from the web and sales associates. Responsible for accurately translating the information into embroidery and/or vector files for various mediums.
Location: Across from the Chester County Airport (Right off the express 30 bypass). This position is onsite in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.
Schedule: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday with one hour unpaid lunch.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Use 2 embroidery programs to produce personalized embroidery graphics and custom appliqué graphics according to customer specifications.
    • Expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator for creating custom logos and graphics.
    • Interpret work orders and translate them into embroidery stitches, patterns and cut files.
    • Program embroidery machines and test correctness and quality of each design.
    • Use cutting machine to cut customized appliqué and heat transfer artwork.
    • Match the product description on the order to the supplied material.
    • Ability to communicate with internal staff to facilitate the approval of artwork.
    • Ability to decipher and match colors.
    • Works with the sales team and customers on custom design orders. Ensures final proofs meet customer satisfaction before sending to production.
    • Complies with all Witmer Public Safety Group Policies and Procedures.
    • Performs any other duties or projects assigned by the management team.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • High school diploma required.
  • Graphic Arts & Design Certification preferred
  • 1-2 years of work-related design experience preferred. Organization will consider equivalent internships/co-op/on-the-job training.
  • Graphic design skills and knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/Corel Draw/Wilcom Embroidery Studio are required.
  • Experience in digitizing content preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while adjusting to changing priorities quickly as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to follow directions required.
  • Capable of working under time constraints.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook)
  • Knowledge of fabrics, colors and textiles a plus.
  • Ability to meet all required deadlines; ability to change priorities quickly as needed; ability to independently handle stress and maintain a mature problem-solving demeanor.
  • Previous embroidery experience preferred.
