We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our IT Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Operating Systems and Database department as the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software Developer II. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the CRM Software Developer II is responsible for analyzing, developing, and implementing solutions within CSUF's CRM platform and related tools. This role supports the administration, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of the CRM environment to ensure it effectively supports business operations.
The CRM Software Developer II manages system setup, upgrades, migrations, reporting, performance monitoring, and usage oversight for the CRM platform and associated applications, including sales and marketing automation tools and integration platforms. This position is responsible for maintaining system security, including user roles, profiles, access permissions, and workflow configurations. The role also designs, develops, and monitors integrations and data automation processes to support reliable data exchange between the CRM and other organizational systems.
The CRM Software Developer II collaborates with business and technical teams to ensure system enhancements, product updates, and new functionality are communicated effectively and implemented accurately within the CRM environment. In addition, this position provides technical subject-matter expertise and leadership for development and implementation efforts related to the CRM platform and supporting technologies. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Under general supervision, designs, analyzes, develops/upgrades, tests, and maintains university software applications and systems. Applies software development knowledge to design feasibility studies, software upgrades and interfaces, write and review coding, and troubleshoot system software issues to ensure user technology is functioning properly and meets the needs of the institution. Works independently on most day-to-day assignments with general supervision on new assignments or projects to ensure alignment with objectives. Handles multiple work priorities and is accountable for own work results.
Working knowledge of relevant software applications and programming languages. Working knowledge of software development methodologies such as designing workflows, diagrams, and schematics. Working knowledge of system development life cycle and structured systems development concepts. Strong project planning and organizational skills to plan, organize, document, and manage multiple projects. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present technical information to technically diverse audience in a clear and concise manner. Strong analytical skills to evaluate user and business needs/programs and design, develop, and implement solutions. Proficiency in using applicable software and programming languages. Knowledge of university and IT policies, processes, and procedures, and data privacy regulations. Ability to provide lead work direction and training to others.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) or more years of experience administering a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with CRM platforms, customer, or partner portal environments. Demonstrated experience working with CRM applications and relational database systems. Working knowledge of database technologies and data tools such as SQL, Excel, JSON, ETL processes, APIs, and system connectors. Familiarity with web services, software testing tools and environments, and release management processes. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and system functionality. Experience developing system documentation, process flows, or workflow diagrams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Experience supporting or working within complex organizational environments, such as higher education or multi-department operations, is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with staff and leadership across varying levels of technical expertise. Experience with system integration or ETL tools; experience with integration platforms such as Dell Boomi is highly desirable. Familiarity with modern programming, web, and application technologies such as Apex, .NET, Java, XML, or similar development frameworks.
License/Certifications
A valid California driver's license.
