JOB SUMMARY:

The Junior Designer, Global UXUI role will support the Global UXUI Experience Design team at Universal Destinations and Experiences by contributing to defined design tasks within larger initiatives. Working under the guidance of more senior team members, this role helps create elegant, seamless digital experiences across web, app and other digital and branded products. The role assists with design execution from concept support through production-ready deliverables while building craft skills, learning team standards, and collaborating with cross-functional partners.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute assigned UXUI design tasks within larger initiatives, including wireframes, mockups, production assets, annotations, and other deliverables that follow established patterns and standards.
  • Support research synthesis, competitive reviews, content mapping, and design iterations to help the team create clear, user-centered solutions.
  • Collaborate with designers, content partners, product, and technology teams to incorporate feedback, maintain files, and prepare work for handoff.
  • Learn and apply brand, accessibility, design system, and team process standards while participating in reviews, quality checks, and ongoing skill development.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred - Graphic Design, Human Centered Interaction and/or Interaction Design.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in digital design, ecommerce, marketing, product design, or related work. Internship, freelance, academic, or portfolio-based experience may be considered.
  • Must present a portfolio of work that demonstrates foundational UX, visual design, and interaction design capability; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Foundational ability to create digital design deliverables in a consumer-facing environment.
  • Developing brand, visual, and interaction design skills with an understanding of the user-centered design process, including research inputs, wireframing, prototyping, testing, and implementation support.
  • Foundational design skills: typography, layout, composition, color theory, iconography, UXUI, and interaction design.
  • Ability to create and maintain design files, components, specifications, and supporting documentation for design and development teams.
  • Basic understanding of content structure, taxonomy, and component-based design thinking for design systems and content-managed experiences.
  • Foundational technical acumen for translating design artifacts into developer-ready deliverables across front-end experiences.
  • Working knowledge of digital channels, including websites, mobile apps, and email templates.
  • Exposure to building cross-channel experiences through coursework, internships, or professional experience.
  • Understanding of user-centered design methods, including gathering requirements, supporting user stories, storyboard development, and iterating based on feedback.
  • General awareness of digital marketing and customer experience considerations across the buying journey.
  • A desire to learn, solve problems, and grow from feedback while balancing quality and speed.
  • Support inventories of content and design assets, helping maintain an accurate view of current state.
  • Assist in assessing content and experience needs against consumer, brand, and business goals.
  • Help identify opportunities to revise, repurpose, or create content in partnership with senior team members.
  • Support competitive and comparative reviews to help benchmark experience patterns and content presentation.
  • Assist with taxonomy, tagging, and content mapping activities.
  • Map content to wireframes in collaboration with UX.
  • Map content to CMS page templates, email templates, and components in collaboration with technology partners.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility best practices and willingness to apply them to solutions.
  • Passion for the user and a willingness to learn through feedback and iteration.
  • Comfortable working in evolving, collaborative environments.
  • A positive attitude, open mind, and desire to collaborate and learn.
  • Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
