Job Description

USA Volleyball is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Designer, Digital & Event Lead to develop high-impact visual content across digital, social, and event platforms. This role reports to the Social Media Content Producer and supports national initiatives, brand development, and large-scale event coverage through innovative design, photography, and multimedia production. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a strong eye for design, storytelling, and brand consistency.


Essential is the commitment to demonstrate a sense of inclusion, safety, and collaborative behavior across the organization, supporting a culture of integrity, humility, and consummate professionalism. 


Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Frequent travel to national events is required. This position is located in SoCal and is ineligible from a remote location. 

Requirements

 Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

Design & Brand Development

  • Create visually compelling digital assets, including web graphics and promotional materials, aligned with organizational priorities and event initiatives.
  • Conceptualize and produce brand elements, including logos and visual systems, for new and existing initiatives.
  • Safeguard brand standards by ensuring consistency across all creative outputs.
  • Introduce fresh design approaches that evolve and modernize the USA Volleyball brand.

Digital & Social Media Content

  • Develop scroll-stopping graphics and visual content tailored for social media and email campaigns to drive engagement and participation.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to build repeatable design frameworks that support ongoing campaigns.
  • Play an active role in shaping and executing integrated marketing campaigns with strong visual storytelling.
  • Support ongoing updates to website content, ensuring visuals and messaging remain current and engaging.
  • Assist in developing homepage features and multimedia elements, including video integration.

Photography & Video Production

  • Oversee photo selection, editing, and optimization to ensure high-quality visual assets.
  • Adjust shooting techniques to accommodate varying lighting, venues, and event conditions.
  • Create short-form video content designed for digital and social platforms, aligned with current trends.
  • Expand and apply video editing techniques to continuously improve content quality and effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to staff and interns on equipment use and photography standards.

Event Coverage & Content Creation

  • Partner with marketing, events staff, and athletes as appropriate to plan and execute content strategies.
  • Prepare creative assets and coordinate logistics in advance of event activation.
  • Evaluate venues and environments to determine optimal approaches for capturing content.
  • Produce a consistent volume of high-quality event photography on a daily basis.
  • Capture and edit short-form video content for timely distribution across platforms.
  • Develop and publish real-time graphics to support competition and championship moments.

Team Collaboration & Creative Support 

  • Work closely with colleagues across departments to strengthen the impact and clarity of visual communications.
  • Refine and elevate presentation materials, sponsorship assets, and marketing pieces through thoughtful design improvements.
  • Offer creative input and guidance to ensure alignment with established brand direction.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5years of professional experience in graphic design, digital content creation, preferably in sports marketing.
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing digital, social, and brand design work (sports or event-based experience preferred).
  • Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments with multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects or similar tools).
  • Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing best practices.
  • Video editing and short-form content production capabilities.
  • Photography and photo editing expertise.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date).
  • Must successfully complete Safe Sport training within two weeks of hire date. Training must be maintained throughout employment.

Salary: $60,5000 - $70,500 commensurate with experience
