Appointment Package PDS Intern
Position Summary/Purpose
The Appointment Package Administrative Student Worker is responsible for independently developing, formatting, and maintaining resource packages that equip counselors with essential information for prospective student meeting and experiences. This highly administrative role centers on managing data, ensuring quality and accuracy, and preparing materials that streamline counselor-student interactions. With a primary focus on attention to detail, organization, and independent productivity, this position plays a key support role within the program recruitment and ground traditional enrollment teams, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of student engagement efforts at Grand Canyon University. This Student Worker must demonstrate professionalism, strong work ethic, and exemplary time management while operating with minimal supervision in a primarily administrative capacity.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
  • Must exhibit the ability to stay focused and productive with minimal direct supervision.
  • Independently create, format, and maintain appointment resource packages for counselors, ensuring accuracy and clarity for effective meetings
  • Creatively customize individual assets for the needs of each student using our resources
  • Gather information from university databases and present it in well-organized, professional formats for use
  • Ensure resources that are provided remain up-to-date and highly accessible.
  • Monitor upcoming program information and related updates; communicate key changes to team members
  • Review and approve all appointment packages to guarantee accuracy and consistency
  • Identify opportunities to refine the appointment package process; proactively integrating feedback and suggestions to better serve the students experiencing the offering
  • Perform a variety of administrative task including customized email communications, digital filing and records, and general office "housekeeping"
  • Fill in or assist teammates where needed to keep processes running smoothly, picking up unfinished tasks as necessary
  • Communicate professionally and clearly with counselors and team members, both electronically and in-person.
  • Provide prompt and courteous internal customer service in all interactions
  • Maintain continuous engagement with assigned tasks throughout scheduled shifts
  • Effectively manage time to accomplish tasks and promptly meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with the PDS Appointment Package oversight committee as needed and respond to team input.
  • Work cooperatively but independently, serving as a resource and subject matter expert to other student workers within the department

Equipment & Tools Used
Interns will be provided with a GCE Laptop / Surface to complete work-related tasks and strategies. Interns will also work with the following provided programs and equipment:
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
  • University database systems (CRM, LopeNet, etc.)
  • Jabber (to include headset)
  • Workday
  • Zoom
  • Calendly

Qualifications:
  • Students local to the Phoenix area year-round & willingness/desire to work over breaks strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and University supported programs.
  • Organized, task-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written communications, a good command of the English language, and ability to provide clear and succinct communications among all stakeholders.
  • Good attention to detail, analytical and networking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in high-volume, high-demand environment and work with ever-changing boundaries and priorities.

Experience / Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
