The Junior Biomedical Internship program will haveabiomedical research internshiptrackwhere students will have the opportunity to be a part ofa research project in areas such as tissue engineering,biomaterials, orbiosensors,and an entrepreneurship track focused on biomedical innovation. Students in the biomedical research track will have the opportunity to be a partof team-focusedresearch projects and to developcutting-edgetechnology.Students participating in the entrepreneurship track willlearn about the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Developing logical and analytical thinking skills, solve problems, and acquire skills such as research, data analysis

  • Understanding the technology platformsdeveloped at TIBI

  • Work on impact assessments

  • Marketing research

  • Business strategies

SECLECTION CRITERIA


  • Be self-governed and work well in a team environment

  • Be responsible and have strong time management skills

  • Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Potential for program to help the applicant achieve their career goals

REQUIREMENTS

  • U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident
  • Must be available to participate in a 10week program at minimum.
  • Undergraduates enrolled in four-year colleges and universities in the U.S., Puerto Rico and other U.S. Territories.
  • Prior to beginning the program, completion of at least two years of undergraduate study
  • Intention to pursue a Ph.D. or a joint M.D./Ph.D. in a bioscience field and not admitted to or enrolled in a graduate program (M.S. or Ph.D.) at the time the program begins
