Job description

General Purpose:

The International Sales Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the commercial, operational, and compliance-related activities of the international markets supplied through GLOCK Inc.

The role serves as the central point of coordination between customers, local distributors, sales agents, Operations, Logistics, Finance, Compliance, and Legal functions to ensure the efficient execution of the Order-to-Cash process and the smooth management of assigned international markets.

In addition, the International Sales Manager is responsible for monitoring business performance, forecasting market demand, ensuring proper due diligence and compliance with corporate policies, FCPA, as well as export control regulation, applicable to export GLOCK products, and supporting the sustainable development of the assigned territories.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly manages Exports department employees in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recommendations of hiring and firing employees, training/coaching employees; planning, assigning, and directing workload of team, conducting employee performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving issues.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

 

  • Perform appropriate due diligence to ensure operations are in compliance with internal policies, FCPA rules, Export Administration Regulations, Commerce Control Lot, U.S. Treasury Sanction List (OFAC).
  • Coordinate and oversee the Order-to-Cash process for assigned international markets.
  • Support and coordinate international Sales Agents and distribution partners.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews of Sales Agents, customers, and business partners.
  • Coordinate export permits, export documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Review Letters of Credit (LCs) and support financial risk monitoring.
  • Consolidate sales forecasts and market planning activities.
  • Prepare management reporting on market performance, forecasting, and business developments.
  • Monitor business performance and identify opportunities and risks in assigned markets.
  • Ensure alignment with GLOCK’s global sales strategy and corporate policies.

 

Reporting Line & Organizational Positioning

The International Sales Manager reports directly to the CEO of GLOCK Inc.

The position operates outside the local country sales organizations and serves as a central coordination, governance, and oversight function for the international markets supplied through GLOCK Inc.

While supporting the commercial development of the assigned territories, the International Sales Manager aligns all activities with the global sales strategy of the GLOCK Group and supports its consistent implementation across the assigned markets.

The role is not responsible for negotiating, managing, presenting to CEO for approval or reporting individual customer transactions, commercial negotiations, tender activities, pricing decisions, contract details, or deal-specific matters outside GLOCK Inc.

Within GLOCK Inc., the International Sales Manager supports the execution of business activities across the assigned territories. Outside GLOCK Inc., any reporting provided to GLOCK GmbH or other corporate stakeholders shall be strictly limited to consolidated and aggregated business information, including:

  • Market developments and trends
  • Sales volume performance
  • Forecasting and demand planning
  • Business performance indicators
  • Compliance and due diligence status
  • Export control and operational topics
  • Strategic business risks and opportunities

The position shall not provide, disclose, escalate, or report customer-specific, transaction-specific, pricing-related, tender-related, contract-related, or deal-specific information outside GLOCK Inc.

The International Sales Manager serves as a governance and transparency function for the assigned markets while ensuring compliance with internal reporting, confidentiality, and information governance requirements throughout the GLOCK Group.

 

Forecasting, Planning & Reporting

  • Coordinate regular sales volume forecasting for all assigned markets.
  • Consolidate demand forecasts and market projections received from distributors and Sales Agents.
  • Monitor actual sales performance against forecast and budget expectations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews for management.
  • Provide regular consolidated reporting on sales volumes, market developments, distributor performance, and business opportunities.
  • Support production planning and supply chain alignment through accurate forecasting.
  • Provide consolidated management reporting to relevant stakeholders within the GLOCK Group while maintaining strict confidentiality of customer-specific and transaction-specific information.
  • Ensure that all reporting outside GLOCK Inc. is limited to aggregated business performance, forecasting, compliance matters, operational developments, and market intelligence.

Overall Accountability

The International Sales Manager serves as the central coordination and oversight function for the international markets supplied through GLOCK Inc. The position is responsible for ensuring effective collaboration between commercial, operational, financial, and compliance functions while supporting the successful execution of the Order-to-Cash process.

Through regular market reviews, consolidated business reporting, due diligence activities, export compliance oversight, and forecasting responsibilities, the International Sales Manager provides transparency, governance, and operational support for the assigned international territories and contributes to the achievement of GLOCK Inc.'s commercial objectives.

The position reports directly to the CEO of GLOCK Inc. and supports alignment with the global sales strategy of the GLOCK Group. Any reporting outside GLOCK Inc. shall be limited to consolidated, aggregated, and management-level information and explicitly excludes customer-specific, pricing-related, contract-related, tender-related, transaction-specific, or deal-specific content. This ensures clear separation between operational sales execution within the local organization and consolidated business reporting within the broader GLOCK Group.

 

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

This position does require international travel, at least four times per year.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, International Trade, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
  • Several years of experience in export management, international business, trade compliance, or sales operations.
  • Strong understanding of international trade of defense products and export processes.
  • Experience with forecasting, reporting, and business analysis.
  • Knowledge of export control, export compliance (FCPA, CCL, EAR, OFAC), Letters of Credit, and international payment structures is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English. German, Spanish, and French are a plus.

Valid Driver’s License
