Job description

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Responsible for Korean cooking required for KE
  • Determines production levels and requisitions the proper amount of supplies and food from the storeroom
  • Prepares food in accordance with established procedures/recipes
  • Interprets specifications and prepares to taste, color, texture and eye appeal
  • Interprets and implements HACCP procedures which include proper temperature controls and completing the necessary paperwork
  • Inventories supply levels and requisitions food products as necessary
  • Prepares food based on a pre-determined production level
  • Keeps kitchen and work areas clean, sanitary, and well maintained
  • Maintains proper temperature of all food products
  • Able to delegate production needs to all level of cooks
  • Assist the Executive Chef and Production Chef as needed
  • Assumes other related duties as required or assigned

JOB SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Read, speak and write English
  • Possesses a certificate of Korean cuisine cooking qualification
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a high-volume kitchen specializing in Korean cuisine
  • Ability to convert to metric measures - with conversion chart
  • Must be able to use fingers & hands to handle equipment up to 8 hours a day
  • Must possess Basic math skills
  • Must apply effective Food Hygiene practices.
  • Must have good organizational skills and adapt to frequent changes
  • Must have the ability to apply safety and sanitation standards
  • Must have the ability to use knives, cutting board, mobile shelving, carts, meat slicer, and related industrial kitchen equipment
  • Must be flexible to work in a 24/7 environment which includes nights, weekends and holidays subject to change due to shift bidding
  • Must be able to work around moving parts & wet floors
  • Must be able to walk/stoop/ bend/ stand for entire work shift
