Job description

Location: On site in locations listed in job posting

Summary

This International Operations position is responsible for supervising employees in international collections processing. Products include International Documentary Collections (Import and Export) and some International Wire Transfer assistance. The Supervisor reviews and approves transactions prepared by direct reports while managing daily workflow and staffing requirements. This position oversees adherence of assigned staff to International Chamber of Commerce guidelines, audit requirements, security controls, and bank policy. The supervisor assists with management of back office software and vendor applications related to assigned functions.

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                           

  • Works with management and HR to assure level of staffing is appropriate. Provides excellent example of teamwork & leadership.
  • Schedules, Assigns & Monitors workflow of employees in order to assure accuracy, turnaround, and quality standards are met. This involves reviewing and approving transactions to be sure that all output is correct before it leaves the department. Coordinates coverage of direct reports’ duties during absences. Schedules and completes cross-training for direct reports.
  • Educates Customers by helping to maintain clear product instructions and procedures.
  • Empowers staff to go beyond customer expectations. Coaches team on continuous improvement.
  • Assists FX team in management of Nostro (our) account balances related to cash letters.
  • Maintains Security and Audit Controls by monitoring staff adherence to related procedures with goals of protecting department assets and avoiding losses to the bank. Advises management of any loss which may exceed USD100.00.
  • Assists with management of software related to the collections product
  • Monitors various reports to ensure complete and accurate processing of accounting entries and to ensure all fedwires entered are passed through interface and released by wire transfer department.
  • Writes/updates department procedures relating to team processes, monitors and develops other reports as needed.

Requirements:  

  • 5 or more years of work experience, with at least 2 in a supervisory or leadership capacity
  • Familiarity with International Chamber of Commerce guidelines for International Collections
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of bank operations including DDA, General Ledger, Fedwire, and bank systems
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks well, within tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage employees’ time and skills toward best productivity
  • High degree of mathematical skill
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to learn new software applications quickly and train others in the use of new applications
