Event Representative
JOB CLASSIFICATION

Reports to: Events and Scheduling Coordinator I

Positions Supervised: None
Location: Primarily Main Campus, however, assignments may include any KCKCC location as designated by the appropriate administrator.
SUMMARY
In collaboration with the Events & Scheduling Specialists, this position serves as a host for non-College sponsored events held at Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) campus locations.
This is a POOL position. Application materials for this part-time position are accepted on an on-going basis due to increasing demand for event coverage.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • Represent and maintain the standards, rules, and general practices of Events and Scheduling as defined by supervisor.
  • Work with clients to fulfill their requests within the parameters of the rental agreement (during the event).
  • Serves as a point of contact for inquiries during events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Positive working attitude with internal/external customers, and community members.
  • Must demonstrate great interpersonal and communication skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in the customer service or hospitality sector.

WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. The role also occasionally involves pushing or lifting items. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Additional physical requirements include:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Occasional setup and movement of chairs, tables, podiums, and similar items
  • Ability to hear instructions in low-volume environments
  • Ability to see in low-light conditions

WORK SCHEDULE
Hours will vary based on individual events and may fall between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM (CT). Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet operational needs, including evenings and weekends.
