This role drives employee communications and executive messaging to cultivate an informed, engaged workforce and a unified leadership voice. The Manager oversees Employee Engagement and Events, Employee Content and Creative, Employee Web/Measurement and Sentiment, and Executive Communications and Messaging. The Manager plays a critical role in ensuring staff across the World Bank Group understand corporate priorities and that leadership communications are clear, inspiring, and consistent both internally and in alignment with external messaging.

Key Responsibilities:

Internal Communications Strategy: Design and implement an internal communications strategy that keeps employees informed about key initiatives and strategic changes, while inspiring them around the One World Bank Group mission. Ensure messaging is consistent, timely, and aligned with external communications so staff are ambassadors of the same core messages. Develop communications plans for organizational changes or initiatives (e.g., policy updates, culture programs) to facilitate smooth internal rollout.

Employee Engagement and Culture: Oversee programs and events that drive employee engagement and strengthen the World Bank Group's organizational culture. This includes town halls, internal campaigns (e.g., innovation challenges, values weeks), recognition events, and staff surveys. Work with HR and other departments to plan and execute employee events that both inform and build community. Ensure two-way communication channels are in place so employees can provide feedback.

Content Creation and Management: Direct the creation of high-quality internal content across various channels, including the World Bank Group intranet, internal newsletters, emails, and digital signage. Supervise a team of writers/designers producing employee focused content that is clear, engaging, and on-message. Oversee the maintenance and user experience of the employee intranet or internal web, making it a go-to hub for news and resources. Champion storytelling that features employee voices and success stories to foster a sense of pride and connection.

Measurement and Sentiment Analysis: Implement tools and processes to measure the effectiveness of internal communications and gauge employee sentiment. Track metrics such as intranet engagement, email open rates, event participation, and pulse survey results. Analyze this data to identify trends in what content resonates or where gaps in understanding exist. Provide regular reports to ECR leadership on employee morale and communication effectiveness, along with recommendations for improvement.

Executive Communications: Manage executive and leadership communications for internal and external contexts. Work closely with Senior Leadership communications officers to craft compelling messages that articulate vision and strategy to employees, including writing or editing SLT emails, video scripts, talking points for internal meetings, and presentations for employee audiences. Ensure the tone and content of leadership communications are consistent with the Bank Group's values and strategic priorities.

Crisis and Change Communication: In partnership with Corporate Communications, take the lead on internal communications during crises or major organizational changes. Develop clear internal messages and FAQs during crises (e.g., security issues, significant policy changes, global events) so employees are accurately informed and know the World Bank Group's stance. Manage the rumor mill via prompt, transparent communications to
staff.
