Job description

IMEG is hiring a Controls Design Intern in Idaho Falls, ID, to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of control systems. This role supports project delivery while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
Principal Responsibilities • Support controls design tasks according to code and IMEG standards
• Produce control documents such as IO list, connection schedule, loop drawings, and schematics
• Maintain client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to final check
• Prepare and issue addendum information
• Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services required by the contract services agreement
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
• Strong interest in design consulting
• Previous exposure to AutoCAD Electrical software
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
