Job description

Intern, Inventory Planning

POSITION PROFILE

The Inventory Planning intern will participate in all facets of the Inventory Planning planning process. The intern will support the Inventory Planning team by developing reporting and documenting processes within the team. In addition, the intern will contribute to the data analysis and actively manage specific activity transitions.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review daily/weekly/monthly processes and drive continuous improvements. Work with process improvement team and lead streamlining of reports.
  • Reviews stock levels in conjunction with senior buyers and develops processes to optimize min/max levels.
  • Develops and drives vendor performance reporting in conjunction with the Inventory Planning manager.
  • Integrate FourKites data in conjunction with the process improvement team.
  • Recommend process improvement and suggestions to achieve continuous improvement
  • Reviews the overdue orders and backorder process and makes recommendations for streamlining and automating buyer response.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

Typically Required:

  • Student must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.  
  • Student should be currently pursuing a degree with Supply Chain focus.
  • Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Student is to successfully complete all required screenings prior to hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of MS Excel and Access.
  • Intermediate user in other MS Office Applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Goal-oriented, motivated, and committed to ongoing self-development.

WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level
  • Work assignments are highly diversified. New alternatives are regularly developed. There is often no precedent established for problems encountered
  • Interprets, comprehends, and applies complex material, data and instruction
  • Prepares, provide and convey diversified information, which may be of a technical nature
  • Work requires involvement in collaborative situations causing minor strain on an infrequent basis. Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.)
