To thrive as an Intern in Inventory Management, you need a basic understanding of supply chain principles, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills, often supported by enrollment in a relevant degree program. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude can set you apart in this role. These skills ensure accurate inventory tracking, efficient operations, and effective collaboration within the team.

How to get experience in inventory management?

To gain experience as an inventory management intern, seek entry-level positions or internships that offer hands-on work with stock control, data entry, and inventory tracking systems like ERP software. What are some common challenges faced by interns in inventory management, and how can they be overcome?

Interns in Inventory Management often encounter challenges such as learning new inventory software, maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines, and understanding complex supply chain processes. To overcome these, it's helpful to proactively ask questions, seek guidance from experienced team members, and regularly review inventory data for discrepancies. Building strong communication skills and staying organized can also help interns adapt quickly and contribute effectively to the team.

  • Collaboration & Backup Support: Work alongside GTS team members to assist with general office technology needs, desk setups, and provide operational backup during peak periods

  • Invoicing & Inventory Management: Delegated invoicing and expense tracking tasks to support team capacity while designing and implementing efficient inventory management systems for peers

  • Equipment Lifecycle Support: Assist with the routine servicing, testing, and replacement of AV equipment to maintain optimal system performance and reliability

  • Solid understanding of AV signal flow (audio, video, and control signals) through integrated corporate AV systems

  • Intermediate understanding of AV equipment and hardware connectivity

  • Experience with Google Workspace (Google Meet, Docs, Slides, etc.)

  • Familiarity with video production concepts (e.g., camera operations, audio mixing, video switcher hardware/software)

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

  • Highly resourceful with strong troubleshooting and problem-determination skills

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving AV/IT equipment

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and fast-paced event schedules

  • Ability to assist with routine servicing, testing, and replacement of AV equipment to maintain system performance

Nice to Have(s):
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Workspace) or Crestron control environments

  • Familiarity with AI tools (in particular Google Gemini)

Note:

  • 4 month Co-op / Internship: September 8, 2026 - December 23, 2026

  • 5 days per week in the downtown Toronto office
