Job description

The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking to hire an intern who will support its Clinical Professional Services (CPS) Division in Central Office Boston.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
The intern will work on:
  • Behavioral Health Treatment and Referral Platform (BHTRP) Data review daily (monthly, YTD)
  • Update Expedited Psychiatric Inpatient Admission website with resources and dashboards/ data trends
  • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders
  • Responsible for updating (BHTRP) referral database and ensuring status updates are accurate throughout the day
  • Maintaining Insurers, Eds, and psychiatric facilities contact lists

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
  • Organizational skills, ability to handle private and sensitive information as well as multitasking
  • Ability to work well within a team, offering assistance and contributing to group projects
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing tasks
  • Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency

Period of Service: May 26, 2026 through September 04, 2026
Additional Information:
  • Benefits are unavailable with the exception of sick leave accruals.
  • All employees will be paid on a biweekly basis and must have direct deposit.
  • The salary for this position is $19 an hour.
  • Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
