Job description

Levitate's employees share a very important mission and goal: helping small businesses grow and thrive. We all contribute to this goal in unique ways, and that's why we prioritize helping our staff identify their strengths and find genuine fulfillment in their roles.

Across every team and department at Levitate, you'll find friendship, enthusiasm, intelligence, and drive. In our pursuit to make the world a more creative and entrepreneurial place, we keep our company's five core values at the center of everything we do:

  1. Creating magic
  2. Showing customer empathy
  3. Making data-driven decisions
  4. Focusing on solutions, not problems
  5. Making small improvements every day

Levitate's Content Marketing department is seeking a design-minded intern to support a rapidly growing program focused on providing our clients with a customized content experience. This role plays a crucial part in producing visuals that feel distinctly branded to each client rather than generic or templated.

This intern will use Claude Design and Canva to create sets of social media graphics that pair with the content our team develops. They will be mentored in strategic prompting and design refinement, and their work will flow to a more senior team member for final review and polishing.

Our ideal candidate is genuinely excited about using AI to make visual content, has a natural eye for design, and is eager to gain experience working for an innovative SaaS company.

Responsibilities

  • Create sets of social media graphics using Claude Design, generating visuals that correspond to each client's requested content topics.
  • Learn and develop strategic prompting skills with direct mentorship from team members who use these tools daily, building a skill set that is increasingly valuable.
  • Work from varied client inputs, including brand guidelines, client-provided images, stated preferences, and their website, adapting when the available information differs from client to client.
  • Refine graphics in Canva, slotting in images, aligning logos, colors, and fonts to the client's brand, and adjusting text placement and sizing so it reads cleanly.
  • Hand off prepared visuals for review, making the final review stage as efficient as possible.
  • Meet deadlines within a structured workflow, keeping client content on schedule.
  • Collaborate with team members to clarify creative direction and resolve questions before handoff.
  • Apply regular feedback on both your prompting and your design eye to sharpen your instincts over time.
  • Support occasional one-off design projects as they come up.

Qualifications

  • Genuine enthusiasm for AI and interest in leveraging it for visual content
  • An eye for visual design, including layout, color, and typography
  • Comfort with Canva, or the ability to pick it up quickly
  • Comfort designing within someone else's brand rather than your own aesthetic
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Good communicator who provides timely updates
  • Openness to feedback and interest in learning from a senior team
  • A portfolio or samples of design work, if any, is appreciated. Work that involved AI tools is welcome but not required
