Job description

About Us

Bags and Birdies is a growing social sports community helping young adults make friends through golf and other activities around Raleigh.

We got our start by building a community on TikTok and Instagram and now host in-person events for people to socialize, make friends, and play golf in a low-stakes environment. As we grow, we are expanding beyond golf into activities such as pickleball, cornhole, and other social sports.

We are looking for a college student who wants hands-on experience in sports marketing, social media, content creation, and community building.

About the Opportunity

This is a flexible role that can be shaped around your interests and the experience you want to gain.

Some responsibilities could include:

  • Edit and post content and help manage our social media presence
  • Attend local events to capture photos, videos, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content
  • Develop content ideas
  • Track content performance and recommend ways to improve reach and engagement

The role can be as focused or as involved as you would like! We are happy to work with you to talk about specifics that will support your goals, portfolio and/or career interests.

Who This Is For

This opportunity may be a strong fit for a student interested in:

  • Sports marketing or sports management
  • Social media and digital marketing
  • Content creation or video production
  • Event marketing and community building
  • Working with sports, entertainment, hospitality, or lifestyle brands

You do not need to be an experienced golfer or athlete. We care more about creativity, reliability, an understanding of social media, and enthusiasm for helping people connect.

Experience with TikTok, Instagram Reels, CapCut, Canva, or similar tools is helpful but not required.

What You’ll Gain

This is an unpaid opportunity, but our goal is to make it a meaningful and practical step toward a career in sports marketing or content creation.

Depending on your involvement, you may receive:

  • Real-world experience creating content for a growing sports community
  • Published work that can be included in your portfolio
  • Ownership over projects and the freedom to test your ideas
  • Exposure to event marketing, community growth, partnerships, and brand development
  • A professional recommendation
  • Complimentary access to selected events, tee times, merchandise, or brand-provided products when available

As we grow, we hope that paid work may become available, but not something we can promise at this time.

Time Commitment

The schedule is flexible. You may contribute remotely, attend Raleigh-area events, or combine both. We can structure the opportunity around a project, a semester-long internship, or a lighter ongoing commitment. Evening or weekend availability is helpful for event coverage but is not required.

How to Apply

Please email to bagsandbirdies@gmail.com :

  • A resume or LinkedIn profile
  • A few sentences about what responsibilities you are interested in
  • Any relevant content examples if you have them

Excited to talk more!
