Job description

Position Summary
Odyssey Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to support advanced situational awareness and multi-domain operations (MDO) programs. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and integration of RF and signal processing systems that enable next-generation battlefield awareness, electronic warfare, and spectrum management capabilities.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and operators to design and deliver systems that integrate data from diverse sensors, communications, and radar systems to provide actionable intelligence and operational advantage. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in RF, signal processing, and spectrum management, along with experience contributing to mission-critical DoD programs in multi-domain environments.
This is a full time position located at MacDill AFB, FL or Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Develop, test, and maintain software features of moderate complexity with limited supervision.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and QA to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute constructive feedback, and follow established coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across development and test environments.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, including design notes, API references, and user guides.
  • Support integration, deployment, and CI/CD activities as part of the development lifecycle.
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Assist in improving development processes, tools, and team workflows.
  • Begin taking ownership of small modules or components within the system architecture.

Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Active Secret (ability to obtain TS/SCI)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Understanding of software development methodologies, data structures, and algorithms
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, or distributed systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
