Position Summary

The Senior Analyst Information Technology Epic is responsible for providing intricate tactical and operational support for the implementation of Enterprise Clinical IT systems. Assists and facilitates the design, implementation, optimization, change management and issue resolution related to the enterprise system and the clinical and business workflows it supports. Requires experience working with enterprise systems such as the Epic platform as well as the applicable clinical and/or business workflows.

Essential Job Duties

  • Supports the relevant departmental environment including all applications and operational interfaces. Performs intermediate problem analysis and troubleshooting and maintains appropriate documentation. Escalates complex issues to the appropriate group in a timely manner.
  • Provides intermediate programming and/or analytical support for the relevant departmental system, subsystems, and related software products, in support of clinical and operational clients. Updates and maintains project plans, provide design and installation/support documentation. Creates or modifies change management procedures per departmental standards as necessary.
  • Designs, configures, and installs new programs, modifications, or enhancements to existing systems. Analyzes modifications or enhancements to determine impact on existing production systems.
  • Develops test plans, test data and testing schedules. Conducts unit and system tests to verify results of software solutions. Participates in functional and integrated testing of all software upgrades, enhancements, service packs and hotfixes as assigned.
  • Performs analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic as necessary. Trains end users in use of equipment and software.
  • Works in multiple phases of systems and applications analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
  • Provides support during non-working hours to ensure the operation of production systems in a 24 x 7 environment.
  • Research, plans, and designs interfaces between a wide variety of systems to support clinical and business needs of the Hospital and Physician Organizations. Develops, tests, documents, and implements changes and enhancements to existing interfaces, support scripts, or other changes to the interface engine environment.
  • Provides business related and technical design guidance to other IS staff in the development and support of other IS systems. Provide technical assistance to other staff members. If Clinical oversees the technical design implementation, analysis, and modifications of new/existing, programs and systems to support the clinical, corporate, and technical operations across all facilities.
  • Creates and maintains accurate and current documentation regarding application(s) supported by the team. Participates in the maintenance of training materials and disseminates materials to users. Reviews documentation and training materials prepared by fellow Analysts.
  • Assists with go-live and support schedules as well as the coordination of field support activities and provides go-live and rollout support on new applications, modules, and functionality.
  • Maintain a favorable work environment for all team members and clients.
  • Responsible for IS change control standards and procedures including successful release and communication of go lives.
  • Provides status reports and insights to departmental leadership in ad-hoc and weekly meetings.
  • Represents the department team in user meetings and perform project management duties as needed. Work with other departments to understand their needs.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Criteria

  • Degree or major in Computer Science

  • Epic Certification

  • ITIL Certification

  • PMP Certification

  • NYS Clinical licensure (Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, or other relevant allied health professional)

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Epic Module Certification obtained within six months of employment

  • Five to seven or more years of previous work related experience
