Job description

Registered Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Profession: Nursing

Specialty: Progressive Care Unit

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day

Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30)

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role

License: Valid compact or state nursing license required

Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Must-Have: Experience with cardiac/IV insulin drip management preferred

Description: Weekdays and some weekends required. Every other weekend is mandatory. Floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity is required. The unit consists of 24 beds, with 9 dedicated to cardiac stepdown. The estimated patient ratios are 1:3 to 1:5. Experience with cardiac care, including dysrhythmia interpretation, is preferred. Skills required include IV start, telemetry, and intermediate care. Candidates must have experience with the charting system Epic. Daily census averages approximately 22 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, heart failure, and related EKG changes. Acute care skills are essential. Candidates must be aware of credentialing and compliance processes. Two professional references are required, one from a manager or supervisor. Travelers must complete necessary credentialing promptly. Education must be from an accredited nursing program.
