Job description

MWV Environmental Services, Inc. specializes in asbestos abatement, and interior demolition. Thanks to our continued growth, MWV is currently seeking a full-time Asbestos Abatement Supervisor.

Our Asbestos Abatement Supervisors are responsible for supervising crew members while adhering to company policies, EPA, MIOSHA, MDEQ and local requirements/regulations regarding safety, hazardous materials handling, etc.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be in possession of current Michigan Abatement Supervisor License and Training Certification.
  • Must be able to follow applicable safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies and site-specific safety plans.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with field workers, management to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Conduct field safety meetings.
  • Communicate project expectations to work crew members.
  • Effectively motivate and discipline crew members.
  • Keep an organized file for each project including any correspondence, receipts/invoices, and any other crucial documents.
  • Meet all project deadlines.
  • Be able to wear a respirator and personal protective equipment.
  • Perform heavy lifting (up to 50lbs).
  • Ensure various maintenance tasks are routinely and efficiently completed.

Qualifications:

  • Michigan Asbestos Abatement Supervisor certification
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Asbestos Abatement and/or Demolition field
  • Must be able to travel to various construction site locations
  • Be available for overtime
  • Perform duties using highest level of safety at all times

Education & Licensing Preferred:

· Associates degree in Business Management, Leadership, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Industrial Hygiene, or High School Diploma and (2) two years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
