Torch Technologies is seeking aTest Engineerto support Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF 401). The Test Engineer will design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies to evaluate the reliability, functionality, interoperability, and operational effectiveness of Counter Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) technologies. This position requires expertise in creating operationally relevant test plans, scenarios, procedures, and evaluation criteria focused on emerging UAS threats and C-sUAS capabilities. The Test Engineer will develop realistic test methodologies, identify system deficiencies, and validate system performance against operational requirements and mission objectives. Test results and operational assessments generated by the Test Engineer willusedto support capability recommendations, acquisition decisions, and procurement efforts for current and future C-sUAS technologies.

As a Test Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Develop detailed test plans, test procedures, operational scenarios, and evaluation criteria to validate C-sUAS system capabilities and mission effectiveness.

  • Design and create manual and automated test cases to evaluate C-sUAS hardware, software, sensors, and defeat systems.

  • Develop and maintain defect tracking processes, issue documentation procedures, and test reporting standards.

  • Coordinate with developers, engineers, operators, and stakeholders to design test objectives and support system improvements.

  • Design and support operational test events, demonstrations, and field evaluations for advanced C-sUAS technologies.

  • Develop data collection methodologies and performance metrics to assess system effectiveness, sensor performance, detection capabilities, and defeat effectiveness.

  • Develop and maintain accurate test documentation, configuration records, operational checklists, and testing artifacts throughout all phases of evaluation.

  • Identify improvements to testing methodologies, operational workflows, and evaluation processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Maintain awareness of emerging UAS threats, adversarial tactics, and evolving C-sUAS technologies to ensure testing remains operationally relevant.

  • Support audits, operational assessments, system certifications, and technical reviews by developing required testing documentation and evaluation products.

  • Participate in agile development environments by designing rapid evaluation methodologies and iterative testing solutions in support of mission requirements.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Bachelor's Degree in Intelligence Studies, Military Science, International Relations, Political Science, or related field; equivalent professional experience may be substituted

  • BS + 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • AA/AS + 9 years of relevant experience OR

  • HS/GED + 11 years of specialized relevant experience

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance

  • Demonstrated understanding of UAS/C-sUAS technologies, capabilities, and operational employment, including sensors, detection systems, tracking capabilities, electronic attack, and mitigation techniques.

  • Experience developing and executing test methodologies, evaluation procedures, and operational assessments for complex systems and technologies.

  • Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar platforms.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to develop technical documentation, test reports, data analysis products, and executive-level briefings.

  • Experience operating and utilizing test measurement, diagnostic, and data collection equipment in support of system testing and validation activities.

  • Proven ability to brief senior military and civilian leadership on operational assessments, system performance, test results, and recommendations.

  • Knowledge of base layered defense concepts, Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) processes, and fixed-site security operations.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, system vulnerabilities, and cyber risk considerations associated with integrated C-sUAS technologies and networked systems.

  • Ability to analyze system performance data and operational results to support capability recommendations, acquisition decisions, and procurement efforts.

  • Experience supporting operational test events, field evaluations, demonstrations, and capability validation activities in dynamic environments.
