The anticipated salary range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00 (Hourly).

POSITION SUMMARY
Handles the insurance portion of all new referrals to Byram Healthcare for diabetic medical equipment and supplies. Navigates new patients through the medical records retrieval process, evaluation of insurance criteria and coverage, health plan authorizations, and shipment of initial orders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Review all new referrals to Byram Healthcare for CGM, Insulin pumps and related diabetic testing and equipment supplies.
2. Completes benefits verification and eligibility checks with insurance plan providers using payer portals, faxes, or phone calls.

3. Verifies insurance contracting with Byram and coverage with various products.
4. Prepare and submit pre-authorizations to regional and national payers using multiple platforms. Respond timely to inquires from payers regarding requests.
5. Effectively communicate with teammates, leaders, and insurance companies.
6. Effectively document activities within Salesforce in an accurate and timely manner.
7. Maintain base level productivity requirements.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Healthcare industry experience highly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Working proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn CRM platforms. Experience with Salesforce, inContact, EHR, and payer portals preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage duties with significant telephone and computer utilization.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Great telephone customer service skills.
  • Willingness to learn.
