What type of insurance pays the highest commissions?

In insurance sales, life insurance policies, especially whole life and term life with riders, typically offer the highest commissions due to their higher premiums. Commercial insurance, such as business or specialty policies, can also provide substantial commissions, often reflecting the complexity and size of the policies sold. Successful agents often focus on these areas to maximize earnings.

How much do commission only insurance agents make?

Commission-only insurance agents typically earn between 50% and 100% of the premiums they sell, with total income varying based on sales volume, experience, and the insurance products offered. Successful agents can make from $30,000 to over $100,000 annually, but income is highly commission-dependent and may fluctuate month to month.
