Residential Manager
Full Time | Night Shift
Pay starting at $18.70/hour
Genacross Lutheran Services, a faith-based nonprofit organization, for over 160 years, has provided compassionate care and support to individuals, families, and communities in need. Genacross Team Members put our mission into action every day, using their skills, talents, and passion, to serve the needs of our community with exceptional care, innovation, and support.
What will I do as a Residential Manager with Genacross?
  • Supervise and monitor residents overnight. You must stay awake while on duty.
  • Keep records (shift notes, IR's, behavioral objectives) on individual residents, including sleep patterns, daily observations and information about activities, behaviors and social interactions with peers.
  • Perform direct care functions (assist with ADLs & ensure resident's needs are met).
  • Log bed checks as required.
  • Assist in preparing food for residents and serve meals and refreshments to residents.
  • Provide coping skills, verbally attempt to de-escalate residents when in crisis. Use approved physical crisis intervention as a last resort to keep residents and staff safe.
  • Utilize trauma informed treatment approaches in all interactions with youth following the SAMHSA principles and domains. Contribute to a positive work environment by following Genacross' mission and vision statements.
  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisors to help create safe environment for residents and staff. Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Assist in keeping work sites clean.
  • Report allegations of abuse/neglect to proper organization leadership and proper authorities.
  • Follow all agency policies. Implement and follow all universal precautions, disaster plans and hazardous material protocol.
  • Supervise, engage, and positively interact with youth with emotional and/or behavioral difficulties in a home-like environment.
  • Utilize trauma informed treatment approaches in all interactions with youth.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by following Genacross' mission and vision statements.
  • Address negativity with redirection or prompting.
  • Communicate with and provide information to co-workers and supervisors to help create a safe environment for residents and staff by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Manage and supervise direct care staff.
  • Follow all agency policies and ensure all policies and procedures are followed by team members.
  • Ensures documentation is completed accurately and timely (shift notes, IR's, work orders, work injury).
  • Checks and complete edit slips to assure timecards are accurate at the end of the shift.
  • Meet deadlines, complete weekly evaluations on new staff, and ensure case tapes, family council, and ILS skills are completed.
  • Provide shift coverage as needed and in emergencies.

Residential Manager Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
    • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • A passion for caring for children
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Must successfully complete all background screening requirements
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Preferred First Aid/CPR/AED certified
