Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility.
This job is ON - SITE.
FTE: 0.001000
Standard Hours: 0.01
Shift: 4
Shift Details: weekday PM each week, 3 weekend shifts every 6 weeks, 2 holidays a year
Job Summary:
Following established policies and procedures, Pharmacy Intern 3 performs a combination of clinical, distributive, and administrative duties. This individual is allowed to participate in any practice activity of a pharmacist, provided that such activity is under the supervision of a pharmacist. As the Intern progresses, and demonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grant increased responsibility. This individual will also assist in the education and training of the pharmacy interns and students. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital pharmacy internship program preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Accepted into a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
Must complete a competency checklist within 3 months of completing orientation and training sessions.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Ability to communicate effectively with other health care professionals and patients. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to optimize patient care and minimize adverse outcomes. Ability to efficiently use the Epic pharmacy system to document medication histories, discharge teaching and other clinical interventions.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration.
