About the Role
The Supported Employment Specialist provides pre- and post-employment support services through a person-centered planning process to assist individuals in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment in the community. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, individualized employment services to Transitional Age Youth and adults while promoting independence, recovery, and overall wellness. The Supported Employment Specialist works collaboratively with community partners, employers, and internal teams to ensure successful employment outcomes and excellent customer care.
Responsibilities
· Assess individuals and develop person-centered employment plans for job development and placement
· Provide job carving and job development services
· Deliver benefits education and planning to support informed decision-making
· Provide transportation related to the delivery of authorized services
· Deliver independent living skills training and support education services
· Coordinate with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation as authorized
· Provide career advancement services and employment retention support
· Negotiate with employers to support job placement and sustainability
· Conduct job analysis and provide job coaching to clients
· Support asset development and long-term employment success
· Deliver follow-along supports to ensure job retention
· Adhere to quality standards and program requirements
· Support clients’ recovery, independence, and wellness goals
· Complete required documentation, tracking, and reporting within established timeframes
· Attend trainings, staff meetings, and supervision sessions as required
· Maintain HIPAA compliance, ethical standards, and professional boundaries
· Meet productivity standards, including 50% billable time after 3 months of employment
· Perform other duties as assigned to support program and organizational needs
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in human or social services from an accredited college or university; OR
· Minimum two (2) years of experience providing supported employment or similar services; OR
· ACRE certification; OR
· Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) with at least one (1) year of experience; OR
· Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) with at least one (1) year of experience; OR
· Minimum four (4) years of experience providing supported employment or similar services with equivalent training
· Valid Arizona driver’s license with reliable transportation and active auto insurance
· Ability to pass state and federal background checks
· Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards
