About the Opportunity

Confidential Search Solutions (CSS) has partnered with a highly respected, AV-rated boutique law firm with a national presence to recruit an Insurance Defense Paralegal with at least three years of experience for its Houston office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal who can confidently manage insurance defense cases from inception through resolution or trial. The ideal candidate will be a dependable self-starter with strong organizational, analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage insurance defense cases from initial intake through completion.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, motions, and correspondence.
  • Review and summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, claim files, and case documents.
  • Coordinate discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, experts, and trial preparation.
  • Monitor litigation calendars, deadlines, case files, and attorney task lists.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and vendors.
  • Assist attorneys with case strategy, document production, exhibits, and trial preparation.
  • Track billable time and comply with client billing guidelines.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of insurance defense litigation experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle cases from inception through completion.
  • Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate required.
  • Knowledge of Texas litigation procedures, discovery, and court filing requirements.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case-management systems.
