Job description

Overview
The Akron, OH office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking a Paralegal to join our team. This position will support all litigation attorneys handling complex corporate transactions and business litigation and perform a broad range of case related duties under the supervision of an attorney. Tasks include managing large volumes of records, documents, evidence and exhibits with accuracy and organization; preparing third-party discovery subpoenas and trial subpoenas; supporting deposition, hearing and trial preparation, maintain litigation calendars and deadlines; preparing, maintaining and monitoring closing checklists for major transactions. This position requires involvement in the transaction and knowledge of the various closing documents.

Responsibilities
Job Specifications/Requirements:
  • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience in corporate, corporate transactions and business litigation, with insurance defense experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of state and federal court rules and e-filing procedures
  • Experience with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity) and document management systems such as iManage
  • Exceptional organizational skills and comfort managing a high-volume, deadline-driven caseload
  • Background in corporate transactions, including and not limited to merger and acquisitions, business litigation
  • This position has an annual billable requirement of 1,600 hours
