Arrowhead Specialtyis seekinga Controllerto join our growing team inTampa, Florida or Indianapolis, Indiana!

Reporting to the Divisional Controller - Arrowhead Intermediaries of Brown & Brown Insurance, the Controller - Arrowhead Specialty will have ownership of all aspects of the month-end close, internal controls, and accounting projects and support for profit centers within the Specialty division.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Establish a transition of Specialty accounting functions to a standalone that adheres to B&B standards, controls and reporting deadlines.

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all daytoday accounting functions across the Specialty division, including hiring, training, developing, and retaining highperforming accounting teammates.

  • Lead and direct accounting operations for assigned legacy or newly acquired offices, ensuring consistent application of corporate accounting policies and standardized processes across assigned profit centers.

  • Establish annual goals and performance metrics for key functional team leaders (A/R, ICP, and other transactional areas).

  • Oversee and ensure a timely, accurate, and wellcontrolled monthend and quarterend close process in alignment with corporate and regulatory deadlines

  • Manage the consolidation of financial data across assigned offices to support accurate internal and external reporting.

  • Perform and/or review monthly CSA packages, ensuring compliance with the Brown & Brown internal control framework.

  • Review and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy, unusual trends, or variances; drive corrective actions and continuous improvements.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate audit standards, and publiccompany control expectations.

  • Ensure effective management of accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash controls, and other transactional processes across the Specialty division.

  • Support and assist client retention and accounting teams in minimizing bad debt exposure; assign and manage appropriate liaisons as needed.

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit requests; ensure timely completion and remediation of any identified issues.

  • Evaluate existing accounting processes and internal controls; recommend and implement improvements to strengthen control environments and operational efficiency.

  • Work closely with finance and operational leadership teams to deliver financial reporting and analytics that support organic growth and operational performance.

  • Support financial integration activities related to new acquisitions, including onboarding, process alignment, and system transitions.

  • Lead orparticipatein special projects designed to improve operational effectiveness, financial transparency, or internal control strength.

  • Prioritize multiple workstreams and projects to meet evolving business needs and deadlines.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders.

  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.

  • Other duties as assigned

Licenses and Certifications:

  • CPA

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • A minimum of 8+ years' experience in an accounting or financial leadership role

  • Proven leadership skills in managing and developing a team.

  • Experience in delivering projects and initiatives that deliver measurable financial results with a focus on driving organic growth.

  • Proven ability to effectively interact with leadership in a dynamic environment.

  • Advanced levelproficiencyin Microsoft suite; focus on Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Master's / MBA degree (preferred)

  • Insurance industry experience (preferred)
