Position: Certified Medical Coder โ€“ Outpatient & ED

Location: Bronx, NY 10461 (Remote after training)

Job Type: Contract

Contract: 8 weeks with strong possibility of extension

Schedule: 7:00 hours/day | 5 days/week

Guaranteed hours per week: 35.00

Pay: Up to 37/hr on W2


Job Summary

Pride Health is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Coder for a contract opportunity in Bronx, NY. This role will focus on outpatient and emergency department coding in an acute care setting, with an initial onsite training period followed by remote work.


Responsibilities

โ€ข Perform accurate medical coding for outpatient and emergency department cases

โ€ข Apply ICD-10, CPT-4, and coding guidelines in compliance with regulatory standards

โ€ข Utilize coding software such as EPIC and 3M/HDS systems

โ€ข Review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy

โ€ข Ensure compliance with federal billing and payer guidelines

โ€ข Research and resolve coding-related issues

โ€ข Maintain productivity and quality standards

โ€ข Collaborate with healthcare teams as needed


Requirements

โ€ข High School Diploma or GED required

โ€ข Active certification (CCS, CCP, RHIA, or RHIT from AHIMA)

โ€ข Minimum 3+ years of coding experience (4+ years preferred)

โ€ข Strong outpatient and emergency department coding experience

โ€ข Proficiency in EPIC and 3M coding systems

โ€ข Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, and medical terminology

โ€ข Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
