THE OPPORTUNITY
The Associate Claims Advocate provides administrative support to the Property & Casualty Claims Team, technical expertise and advocacy to clients on all claim related matters.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists clients in reporting new claims to the carrier within time period as set by company standard.
  • Direct contact with carrier claims department within 24 hours of reporting of all new claims to identify claim number and ensure adjuster assigned to loss.
  • Regular contact with adjusters to monitor status of claims in order to update relevant parties.
  • Assist Claims Team members with incoming and outgoing claims documentation.
  • Assisting Claims Team members in preparation of claim review requests.
  • Proactive communication with clients, carriers and vendors.
  • Under supervision of the Claim Team, direct communication with clients to advocate clients' interest in all claims matters.
  • Maintains accurate and organized claim files by appropriately documenting claim statuses; updates all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems; ensures accuracy of data.
  • Navigate various carrier databases.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School / GED
  • 1-2 years insurance industry work experience or equivalent combination of education & experience.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
  • Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry.
  • Ability to respond to customer needs, solicit customer feedback to improve service, and handle difficult or emotional customer situations promptly and accurately.
  • Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to efficiently gather pertinent information and facts, analyze and solve problems timely and thoroughly.
  • Computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • This position primarily involves remaining in a stationary position for the majority of the workday.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with colleagues and clients both in person and on the telephone; Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

The expected salary range for this position is $24.00- $28.00/hr and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
