Job description

Farmers Insurance is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Agent in Training who is business-minded, motivated to grow, and interested in building a long-term career in the insurance industry. This is an in-office position located in Michigan, ideal for someone who wants more than a job and is ready to learn how an agency operates while developing the skills needed to eventually step into agency leadership or ownership.

This position offers Paid training which turns to a competitive base salary upon completing training, plus commission and performance-based bonuses.

This role is designed for individuals who want to gain hands-on experience in both the operational and sales sides of the agency while developing the foundation needed to run a successful insurance business. You will work directly with clients, learn the day-to-day functions that drive agency growth, and build the sales and service skills required to grow a book of business. The position provides a structured learning environment that rewards initiative, accountability, and results.

Working closely with agency leadership, you will gain exposure to the business side of insurance, including sales development, customer relationship management, and agency operations. This is a growth-focused opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of their career, develop real business acumen, and position themselves for future advancement within the Farmers system.

Candidates must have active Michigan Property & Casualty and Life, Accident & Health insurance licenses, or be willing to obtain them. If you are not currently licensed, free pre-licensing education is available to help you meet the state requirements.
