Ball State University Facilities Planning and Management has an opportunity to work on the beautiful campus. What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Position Function: Under supervision, perform duties related to work in electrical maintenance, involving work up to 600 volts, complying with appropriate regulations and codes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Install, inspect, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, apparatus and control equipment as required.

Requires the physical ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, and 20 pounds of force constantly. Task requires visual ability to distinguish color and perceive depth. Task requires the ability to operate trucks, hand and power tools, testing and measuring equipment, safety equipment, ladders, scaffolds, power lifts, etc. Employee is exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise, vibration, oils, and may be required to wear a filter mask and/or respirator. Task requires the mental ability to analyze situations, be detail-oriented, adjust to varying work assignments, receive, comprehend, follow, and provide oral instructions and information, and to read, comprehend, follow, and provide written instructions and information.

2. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble electrical conduit and raceway as required.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
1. Successful completion of an apprenticeship program in Electricity as approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship Training, or six (6) years of experience as an Electrician, or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable job knowledge can be acquired as determined by Ball State University.
2.Must be able to read and comprehend all specified policies and procedures for safety, hazardous materials information, University policies, procedures, and communications, and perform mathematical calculations.
3.Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy.
4.Must be able to perform all mental and physical requirements as outlined in each job duty.
5.You must be 18 years or older.
