Job description

Millwork Estimator

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Millwork Estimator to join our team at Campostella Builders, a leading commercial architectural millwork firm. The Millwork Estimator will play a crucial role in our project development process by preparing detailed and accurate estimates for custom millwork projects using our ERP system. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and skilled team player and have excellent communication skills to collaborate with our project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation to understand the scope and requirements of commercial millwork projects.
  • Quantify materials needed for custom millwork, such as high-end wood finishes, hardware, laminates, and other components.
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive cost estimates for labor, materials, and subcontractor services using Innergy.
  • Collaborate closely with our subcontractors and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options while maintaining the quality and integrity of the design.
  • Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to clients, addressing their specific needs and requirements.
  • Follow through on our sales process to ensure our clients are serviced from end-to-end at a high caliber.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in a commercial environment a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Familiar with industry-standard software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with LEED and sustainable building practices in commercial construction.
  • Industry experience is a plus, but not a requirement for the right candidate.
