Job description

Hire-Nelson Company Inc. is a leading manufacturer of commercial custom cabinetry and architectural millwork serving the Chicago market. We are seeking an experienced Architectural Millwork Project Manager to oversee projects from kickoff through installation while coordinating closely with general contractors, our internal production team, and field installers.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the millwork industry, architectural drawings, and jobsite coordination and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage architectural millwork projects from contract award through installation and closeout
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for General Contractors
  • Review and interpret architectural drawings, millwork shop drawings, and specifications
  • Coordinate project schedules with production, purchasing, and installation teams
  • Track project progress and ensure timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Communicate project updates with internal teams and external partners
  • Use Innergy ERP to track project data, work orders, and production progress
  • Utilize Outlook for client and internal communication
  • Travel to job sites as needed for coordination, progress review, and installation support
  • Ensure projects move efficiently through drafting, production, and installation

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in architectural millwork, commercial cabinetry, or custom millwork project management
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and millwork plans
  • Strong communication skills working with General Contractors, architects, and internal teams
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable working with ERP systems (Innergy experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency with Outlook and standard office software
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Willingness to visit job sites as needed
