Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Infrastructure Operations leads the Infrastructure Operations team responsible for the stability, resiliency, and lifecycle of the company's on-premises infrastructure. This leader owns the operational execution of data-center consolidation and exit programs, the infrastructure risk and end-of-service-life portfolio, disaster-recovery testing, vulnerability management, and the monitoring/observability (SRE) practice - while establishing the governance, documentation standards, and agile operating cadence the team runs on. Key Responsibilities

Data Center Operations, Consolidation & Exits

  • Lead execution of data-center evacuation and consolidation programs across the on-premises footprint.
  • Own capacity planning and server/storage moves across the facility portfolio, coordinating discovery, dependency mapping, and cutover sequencing.
  • Coordinate the on-prem hand-off for workloads targeted for cloud migration, ensuring source-side readiness, decommissioning, and data extraction (migration execution is owned by the cloud/modernization team).
  • Direct certified asset disposition (ITAD) and decommissioning, including chain-of-custody and certificates of destruction.

Infrastructure Lifecycle & Risk Management

  • Maintain the end-of-service-life (EOSL) hardware/storage remediation roadmap and formally track, mitigate, and report infrastructure risks.
  • Manage the "keep-the-lights-on" / continuous-improvement (KTLO/CI) backlog across PI cycles, balancing run vs. change.

Resiliency & Disaster Recovery

  • Own enablement and execution of DR tests against defined RTO/RPO tiers; drive resiliency, backup, and BCP standards.

Security & Vulnerability Management

  • Lead infrastructure vulnerability management - patching, firmware remediation, and hardening - in partnership with Information Security.

Monitoring, Observability & SRE

  • Build and mature the SRE and observability practice for on-prem infrastructure: monitoring/alerting standards, tooling integrations, SRE metrics/reporting, and AIOps adoption.
  • Own the major-incident and escalation model and problem-management/RCA discipline.

Governance, Documentation & Operating Model

  • Establish and enforce documentation governance, standards, policies, and controls; own the infrastructure knowledge base and its review cadences.
  • Define team structure and capability development via a skills matrix and maturity assessment.

Team Leadership & Delivery Cadence

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Infrastructure Operations team; run agile ceremonies (standups, retrospectives) and PI planning.
  • Partner cross-functionally with PMO, Finance, Information Security, Architecture, the cloud/modernization team, and the business units, and manage vendor relationships.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years in infrastructure/IT operations, including 3+ years leading teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of on-premises data-center operations, server/storage lifecycle, and consolidation or exit programs.
  • Strong grounding in ITSM/ITIL, incident/problem management, DR, and infrastructure lifecycle/EOSL management.
  • Experience with monitoring/observability and SRE principles.
  • Proven ability to establish operational governance, documentation standards, and agile delivery cadence.
  • Excellent cross-functional stakeholder and vendor management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep experience with data-center hardware, storage, and virtualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian suite (Jira, JPD, Confluence, JSM Assets) for portfolio and knowledge management.
  • Exposure to AIOps tooling and observability platforms.
  • Healthcare or regulated-industry (FedRAMP/HIPAA) infrastructure experience.
