Job description
The Supply Chain Expeditor supports production readiness and on-time builds by actively managing supplier purchase orders and internal manufacturing orders. This role ensures accurate order status, resolves data issues within the ERP system, and drives follow-up across suppliers and internal teams to mitigate shortages, delays, and risks to production schedules. The position plays a critical role in maintaining material flow, visibility, and communication across the supply chain.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
+Proactively expedite supplier purchase orders to ensure materials are delivered on time to support production schedules
+Confirm promised ship dates, quantities, and delivery methods with suppliers
+Obtain and track shipment details, including tracking numbers and carrier information
+Follow up on past-due or at-risk purchase orders and escalate issues as needed
+Communicate changes in delivery status clearly to Planning, Purchasing, and Production teams
* Identify and correct ERP data issues (ex: wrong lead times, fixing negative inventory, bad item/vendor info)
+Needs to have experience in a related manufacturing/production/industrial environment
+Experience working in an ERP system (preferred); Excel skills helpful for tracking and reporting
+Experience in purchasing, supply chain, materials management, or expediting
+Maintain and distribute a daily and/or weekly critical parts and 'hot list' highlighting shortages, late orders, and high-risk items
