Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: CVG Inflight Services Supervisor

Department: Inflight Services (CVG)

Reports To: Inflight Services Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:

This position supports and assists the Inflight Services Manager with the oversight and execution of all Flight Operations Support functions at the CVG station. The CVG Flight Operations Supervisor provides leadership, direction, and coordination to ensure efficient, safe, and continuous operations across all shifts.

This role serves as the primary point of contact and decision-maker in the absence of the Inflight Services Manager and ensures seamless communication, problem resolution, and operational continuity between internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders. The position is responsible for maintaining a high level of accountability, safety, and service quality while supporting both flight and ground personnel in a fast-paced operational environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Provide overall leadership, oversight, and direction for CVG Flight Operations Support staff, ensuring consistent supervision across all shifts and maintaining continuity of operations.
  2. Serve as the primary decision-maker and escalation point in the absence of the Inflight Services Manager
  3. Assign, prioritize, and delegate work while monitoring workload, staffing coverage, and task completion to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and accountability.
  4. Provide operational coverage as needed to address staffing shortages due to sick leave or approved absences.
  5. Deliver real-time guidance, problem-solving, and support employees while addressing questions, concerns, and operational challenges.
  6. Support employee development through onboarding, training, mentoring, and promotion of a professional, safety-focused, and team-oriented work environment.
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards; identify and escalate performance, staffing, safety, or compliance issues as needed.
  8. Document incidents, performance concerns, and key operational events accurately and in a timely manner.
  9. Coordinate communication across internal teams, external departments, flight crews, and vendors to ensure seamless operations and timely issue resolution.
  10. Oversee inventory management by tracking and communicating supply and linen levels and coordinating with vendors to maintain adequate stock.
  11. Utilize operational systems and Microsoft Office tools effectively to support workflow and communication.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Inflight Services Manager

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school graduate; some college and or technical school desirable or equivalent professional military education and/or experience.
  2. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write, and understand English. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with team members and leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  1. Ability to obtain and maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) credentials with unrestricted U.S. Customs clearance.
  2. Valid driver’s license with the ability to safely operate vehicles in aircraft operational areas.
  3. Strong situational awareness in high-traffic, safety-sensitive environments
  4. Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure operational setting.
  7. Reliable attendance and flexibility to support varying shifts as needed.

PSYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Employee will need to be able to climb stairs and ladders and carry up to 40lbs.
  2. While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand; walk; talk and hear.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employee primarily works in an office environment with a controlled noise level; however, the role also requires occasional work in aircraft operational areas and exposure to outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
