Position
Our Flight Coordinator is responsible for all activities to ensure smooth & efficient running of the daily inflight catering delivery operation, providing the highest standard of service by controlling and liaising closely with the personnel in the relevant internal departments & our customers. He/She initiates special projects to improve the effectiveness & efficiency of the overall inflight catering preparation and delivery to fulfill the requirements of our customers' specific procedures. This is a fast pace environment that requires a hands-on approach to inflight catering needs, including actively loading the aircraft with the driver force. Our Flight Coordinator is a quick thinker and effective decision maker. We pride ourselves in delivering the highest quality of customer service. The requirements include assisting to complete the catering for the flights. Our Flight Coordinator must be flexible and punctual according to the ARRIVAL and DEPARTURE times of our commercial airline customers.
Reports to: Flight Coordinator Supervisor
Essential functions:
  • Ensure that the assigned flights are delivered according to the customer requirements in the most efficient and safe way to satisfy the quality standards of the company
  • Perform a thorough pre-flight check using the respective customer or internal check list(s)
  • Ensure punctual catering provision of each flight
  • Ensure correct number of meals for each provisioned flight, keeping overprovisioning ato minimum level
  • Assist drivers with flight loading, making sure all stowing positions are correct
  • Ensure correct handover to the aircraft crew
  • Ensure all goods sold per flight are captured and forwarded to the account manager
  • Making sure delivery notes are signed by crew
  • Handover signed delivery notes to account manager
  • Produce the daily catering delivery report and statistics; distribute accordingly to internal rules
  • Produce worksheets, labels, production sheets for the production departments for them having the most updated information at all time
  • Follow all incoming operational communication from the customers
  • Work up all incoming operational information and communicate to the effected departments with the max. urgency and according to the internal company rules
  • Control the conversion of the communicated operational information in form of a follow-up system
  • Constantly control within the consigned areas to ensure that the requirements of hygiene, quality and safety standards are fulfilled
  • Improve constantly the services to our customers
  • Identify problematic areas within the consigned sectors, inform the account manager
  • Ensure correct dead-head packing for each single flight as well as overall equipment balance to fulfil customers demands and to avoid overstocks and negative inventory impact
  • Assist on taking physical inventory according to Customer requirements
  • Control together with the tray-setting and food-production the timing for the food flow to avoid delays
  • Supervise the processing times to avoid delays and lapses
  • Create training program for new hires
  • Train new hires on company procedures
  • Manage daily scheduling for the team assigned to make sure OT is under control
  • Comply with daily reports (CCP6) and billing information
  • Assit AccM with specifications and airlines updates distributions
  • Evaluate training progress and document accordingly, providing HR with respective training sign off sheets
  • Handle Bacterial Analysis requests
  • Make sure spill kits are always updated

Responsibilities Ramp Safety:
  • Safety is #1 on the airport
  • Needs to pass Ramp Safety Training and test
  • Periodic refresher training
  • Ensure all drivers follow the specific ramp safety rules
  • Check and control that all ramp drivers are adhering to the rules written in company's' ramp safety manual
  • Observe and screen constantly driver's activity and behaviour on the ramp
  • Ensure that vehicles are positioned and/or parked correctly on the ramp
  • Ensure all drivers/coordinators use their personal protection equipment (e.g. safety vests, anti-slip shoes, earplugs etc.)
  • Ensure that all safety devices (e.g. wands, cones etc.) are fully functional and used always
  • Report malfunctioning safety devices to account manager
  • Alert account manager and senior management immediately of any safety risk or threat on the ramp, on the route, at the flight kitchen (take pictures, call, send email/text etc.)
  • Manage the interface with other providers on the ramp to avoid safety risk situations

Requirements
Requirements, but not limited to: This position requires flexible work schedules within a 24/7 work environment. The airline catering industry is a seasonal business and certain peak times of the year are black out periods for PTO (paid time off), e.g. year end, summer.
Qualifications
Professional experience within the airline catering industry
Qualify for red HAS badge with driver and escort endorsement (pass 10 years federal back ground check and safety and driver classes)
CDL class A or B with airbrake endorsement is of advantage
Ramp safety experience
Awareness of the operational sequences
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Capacity to motivate and train his/her team members
Planning-, co-ordination and excellent verbal and written communication skills
Availability, staying power and self-assertion
PC use skills for the principle software packages, e.g. MS Office
Highly result orientated
