Job description

Job Title: Powersports Assembly Technician
Location: Indian Motorcycle of Hartford / Scranton Powersports
Department: Service
Reports To: Service Manager
Job Summary: The Powersports Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, inspecting, and preparing new powersports vehicles (motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, watercraft, etc.) for delivery. This role ensures all units are built to manufacturer specifications and meet safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble new units from crates according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and verify that all components are installed and functioning.
  • Ensure correct fluid levels, battery charging, and tire inflation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot any mechanical or electrical issues during assembly.
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly, inspections, and completed work.
  • Communicate any damage or missing parts to the supervisor or parts department.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
  • 1+ year experience in mechanical assembly or related field (powersports or automotive preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand/power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and schematics.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods.

Preferred Skills:
  • Certification in small engine repair or related technical field.
  • Knowledge of major powersports brands (e.g., Indian, Polaris, Can-Am, CF Moto).
  • Basic computer skills for service documentation.

Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced shop or dealership environment.
  • May involve exposure to noise, fumes, and outdoor weather.

Compensation: We offer competitive pay based on experience. The pay plan consist of a hourly wage along with a bonus based on production and training completion.
