Salary Range: $52,000 annually
The Catering Lead helps bring people together through food by coordinating and preparing catering for MAIC programs, room rentals, community gatherings, and external events. Working closely with the Executive Chef, FOH Manager, and MAIC Events Coordinator, this role oversees catering from planning to service, ensuring meals are welcoming, high-quality, and reflect Gatherings Cafรฉ's commitment to healthy, accessible Indigenous foods.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Working alongside, the Executive Chef, and FOH manager on all catering events from planning through execution.
- Assist FOH manager coordinate catering orders, event timelines, staffing and delivery logistics.
- Supervise cafรฉ staff during event set-up, service (if applicable) and breakdown.
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and quality standards in accordance with company policies and health regulations.
- Assist with menu planning and make recommendations base on client needs and event requirements.
- Ensure catering equipment, van, and supplies are organized, clean and properly maintained.
- Perform miscellaneous job-elated duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional kitchen or food service experience required.
- Valid driver license.
- License Certification: (a) ServSafe Food Manager Certificate (Mandatory); (b) First Aid/CPR/AED Certificate (Preferred)
