Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to oversee, manage traffic engineering design projects from studies through final construction plans. The Senior Traffic Engineer will manage a team that completes conceptual design development, develop solutions to engineering problems and provide project management for medium to large scale engineering and planning projects.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage Traffic Analysis, Traffic Design and Traffic Safety Sections
  • Assist Senior Program Manager with Business Development and Marketing for Traffic Engineering Service Line
  • Manage traffic engineering tasks through application of relevant design criteria, standards and processes in order to develop traffic control device recommendations
  • Manage traffic data collection, and a wide range of traffic engineering studies including but not limited to traffic impact studies and traffic operational analyses
  • Develop project budgets, prepare technical proposals and overall management of projects
  • Review designs performed by others for the purpose of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC)
  • Apply the principles in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) as well as interpret and apply applicable federal, state and/or local standards and processes
  • Develop support information and applicable deliverables

Position Requirements:
  • BS from ABET accredited engineering program
  • Professional Engineering License (PE)
  • A minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in the traffic engineering field
  • Project Management of Traffic Design and Analysis projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office

Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer Registration (PTOE)
  • Experience working on DOT and Private projects
