Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct all warehousing activities to ensure accurate receiving, put-away, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including inbound receipts, quality checks, put-away, picking, packing, loading/unloading, and outbound shipments.
  • Manage inventory control processes: cycle counting, stock reconciliation, FIFO/LIFO methods, and report generation to ensure 98%+ inventory accuracy.
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff (receiving clerks, pickers, packers, forklift operators, and supervisors). Schedule shifts, set performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and implement training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections, incident reporting, and root-cause analysis; drive continuous improvement in safety metrics.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and workflow to maximize space utilization and throughput; implement process improvements to reduce handling times and increase accuracy.
  • Manage carrier relations, dock scheduling, loading plans, and paperwork for inbound/outbound shipments; ensure on-time delivery performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for inbound/outbound processes, inventory transactions, and regulatory compliance; utilize ERP/WMS systems to record transactions in real time.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipments, receiving cycle time, inventory accuracy, and labor productivity; prepare and present reports to leadership.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Customer Service, and Transportation teams to resolve issues, manage backorders, and improve service levels.
  • Manage budgetary responsibilities related to warehousing operations, including labor, equipment maintenance, and consumables.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen) to streamline operations.
  • Handle other duties as assigned by leadership to support overall supply chain objectives.
