Operations Manager – Warehouse Distribution & Inbound Operations

Total Warehouse Solutions (TWS LLC)
Location: Franklin, MA
Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 per year (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

Total Warehouse Solutions (TWS LLC) is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily warehouse and inbound distribution operations at our Franklin, MA facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing inbound freight, warehouse receiving, dock operations, labor planning, payroll processing, customer communication, inventory accuracy, and overall warehouse performance.

The Operations Manager will ensure safe, efficient, and productive warehouse operations while leading warehouse associates and third-party labor teams to meet customer expectations and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all driver check-ins and inbound freight operations.
  • Price and quote inbound loads.
  • Enter operational data into company databases and warehouse management systems.
  • Assign daily lumper and unloading assignments.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time.
  • Complete daily operational and production reports.
  • Receive payments from carriers and drivers.
  • Maintain accurate records for all cash and checks received.
  • Send weekly cash, checks, and week-ending reports to the Corporate Office.
  • Communicate effectively with on-site management and Corporate Operations.
  • Oversee the unloading of shipping containers and trailers for warehouse storage.
  • Ensure proper breakdown, sorting, segregation, and palletization of inbound freight.
  • Verify production code dates are visible and identify damaged product for the on-site Operations Manager.
  • Ensure accurate receiving, inventory reporting, and documentation.

Warehouse Leadership Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse while meeting productivity and service standards.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and motivate warehouse receiving associates and lumper crews.
  • Monitor employee performance and administer coaching and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Ensure associates safely operate material handling equipment.
  • Maintain labor coverage based on daily and weekly operational volume.
  • Coordinate staffing requirements with customer operations.
  • Provide training on safety procedures, unloading methods, attendance expectations, and company policies.
  • Maintain safety documentation and attendance records.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and OSHA regulations.
  • Assist in developing training programs to improve employee performance and operational efficiency.
  • Develop receiving schedules and labor assignments to maximize productivity.
  • Recommend operational improvements to the Corporate Operations Manager.
  • Attend customer meetings and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Manage inbound receiving operations to achieve operational objectives.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development.
  • Allocate equipment and labor based on operational needs.
  • Ensure warehouse equipment is properly maintained and operated safely.
  • Supervise inbound shipments to ensure timely, accurate unloading and receiving.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Previous experience as an Inbound Manager, Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, Receiving Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
  • Experience managing warehouse associates, labor crews, or third-party labor providers.
  • Knowledge of dock operations, freight handling, inventory control, receiving processes, and warehouse productivity.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Ragic, or similar warehouse software.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety standards.
