Job description

SUMMARY
Responsible for working on projects, programs and efforts that improve the performance of the CFA team. Assist with the documentation, standardization, training and monitoring of installation methods. Gathers field data and information on opportunities for waste reduction and process improvements. Utilizes Lean tools to deliver process improvements and other duties in the support of the continuous improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Continuous Improvement
  • Produces work instructions, methods, and procedures to support installation team
  • Develops tools and job aids to support quality and productivity improvements.
  • Develops job time standards to provide guidance as to job duration and planning
  • Updates methods to address quality issues

Training
  • Develops and conducts training to help installation teams deliver a high-quality installation
  • Assists site managers and installation leadership in developing expectations for contractors
  • Coordinates work with MML to verify appropriate methods and clarification of work instructions.
  • Conducts training classes in Lean tools and leads rapid improvement teams.

Business Process
  • Develops quotation documentation that translates methods and installation procedures into project time estimates for contractors.
  • Analyzes and addresses gaps in processes that lead to quality issues.
  • Utilizes data to drive improvement gathered from field work, systems, and other data points
  • Utilizes Lean methodologies to drive improvements eliminate waste, drive standardization, etc.
  • Works with cross functional teams such as quality, install, service, and customers

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering required. One year experience with continuous improvement methods and training in Lean skills preferred. Bachelors degree in engineering preferred or combination of education and/or experience. Lean Six Sigma Certifications Black and/or Yellow Belt would be considered. Bilingual English/Japanese is preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English. Japanese language ability preferred.

  • Ability to articulate problems to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

TRAVEL
This position requires up to 20% travel including domestic and international. A valid drivers license and good driving record are required.
