Job description

Stone Importer/Wholesale Distributor is looking for a Warehouse Associate to join its team. The Warehouse Associate performs a variety of material handling duties associated with the warehouse.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to do the following:

  • Duties are performed under general supervision following standard work procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.
  • Quickly and safely unload containers and inbound shipments.
  • Accurately pull and assemble customer orders and outbound transfers in a timely manner.
  • Checks material for defects before shipping material to other locations and/or customers.
  • Safely load and unload granite, marble and quartz slabs and other items/products.
  • Perform inventory stock checks, label product, move, store, and stock material, conduct daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts.
  • Process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
  • Maintains clean and organized facility by sweeping, mopping, removing trash, putting tools and equipment away.
  • May assist CSR/Sales team with customers in warehouse and confirms hold and pick slips.
  • May occasionally drive delivery truck to deliver orders to customers.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Operate forklift and other hand tools.
  • Basic math and organization skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Able to communicate in English.
  • Safety conscious.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Forklift experience; Certified Forklift Operator preferred.
  • 2 or more years previous warehouse experience
  • 2 or more years forklift experience.
  • Knowledge of using computer or tablet a plus.
  • Ability to lift 40-60 pounds on daily basis; occasionally lift up to 80-100 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended time.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
