Trove Brands is seeking a proactive and emotionally intelligent Domestic Imports Operations Supervisor to help lead and develop our Imports Operations team. This role will primarily oversee domestic import operations, including shipment prioritization, delivery coordination, freight partner performance, exception management, and support for coordinator development.

As our supply chain continues to grow in both volume and complexity, this role will help strengthen day-to-day decision-making, improve operational consistency, and provide more focused leadership support to the Imports team. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem-solver who can balance hands-on operational oversight with people leadership, coaching, and process improvement.

Success in this role requires strong prioritization skills, sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and the ability to lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced supply chain environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly manage and develop a team of Imports Operations Coordinators.
  • Provide consistent coaching, feedback, and support to help team members grow in their roles.
  • Help coordinators prioritize daily work and make timely decisions on shipment issues and escalations.
  • Support individual development plans, performance conversations, and ongoing team accountability.
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented team environment.
  • Partner closely with the International Imports Operations Supervisor to ensure consistency across the broader Imports team.

Domestic Import Operations Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day domestic import operations once shipments arrive in the U.S.
  • Support prioritization of containers and inbound shipments based on customer promise dates, inventory needs, MABD, and business impact.
  • Ensure containers and inbound shipments are processed accurately and efficiently through internal systems.
  • Monitor domestic shipment milestones and help resolve delays, routing issues, delivery exceptions, and other disruptions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to communicate delays, delivery updates, and shipment priorities.

Freight Partner Management

  • Help manage relationships with domestic freight partners, drayage providers, warehouses, and other logistics partners.
  • Monitor freight partner performance against agreed timelines, service expectations, and cost targets.
  • Support regular business reviews, KPI tracking, and performance feedback for freight partners.
  • Escalate and resolve recurring service issues, billing concerns, or performance gaps.
  • Partner with the broader Imports team to identify opportunities for improved service, cost control, and accountability.

Cost Control & Operational Decision-Making

  • Help reduce unnecessary expedited freight spend through strong planning and prioritization.
  • Support freight rate benchmarking and cost comparison efforts.
  • Review exceptions and identify root causes behind delays, added costs, or operational errors.
  • Make timely, informed decisions while knowing when to escalate higher-risk issues.

Process Improvement & Scalability

  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements to strengthen consistency and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain SOPs for domestic import operations.
  • Improve reporting and visibility into shipment status, freight partner performance, and key operational metrics.
  • Help build scalable workflows that reduce dependency on individual knowledge and improve team coverage.

Key Performance Indicators

  • On-time and in-full delivery performance against customer commitments.
  • Reduction in unnecessary expedited freight spend.
  • High freight partner performance and accountability.
  • Accuracy and consistency of shipment processing.
  • Timely resolution of shipment exceptions and escalations.
  • Coordinator development, support, and performance.
  • Progress on SOPs, process improvements, and system adoption.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Prior experience leading, supervising, or managing a team.
  • Experience in supply chain operations, logistics, transportation, imports, or a related field.
  • Strong prioritization and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to navigate team dynamics professionally.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to remain organized and calm in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience building SOPs, improving processes, or implementing operational controls.
  • Experience managing freight partners, warehouses, forwarders, or transportation providers.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with ERP, TMS, or logistics systems.
  • Familiarity with Acumatica, RateLinx, DOMO, ClickUp, MaxLoad/TOPS, or similar tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

A successful Domestic Imports Operations Supervisor will bring structure and consistency to domestic import operations while helping the team operate more effectively as the business scales.
