Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate the FTZ/DEA inventory control, using our ERP systems Tecsys and QAD FTZ.
  • Verify and audit inventory transactions; process and related data are complete and accurate.
  • Request or compile necessary import documentation, such as customs invoices, certificates of origin, and cargo-control documents.
  • Track and manage receipts by monitoring inbound shipments; prepare in-transit entries and/ or permit-to-transfers as required.
  • Prepare, maintain, and record all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual FTZ/DEA forms and reports ensuring that they are timely, complete, and accurate.
  • Work to ensure inventory transactions are recorded accurately and resolve issues in accordance to established FTZ/DEA policies and procedures.
  • Advise others on import and export restrictions, FTZ/DEA requirements, quotas, or other Customs-related matters.
  • Confer with distribution centers, shippers, and officials of various agencies to facilitate clearance of goods through customs and quarantine.
  • Monitor or trace the location of goods.
  • Audit and verify the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to inventory transactions.
  • Maintain proper record keeping and management reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business / supply chain, Logistics or related field and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an FTZ, import operations, or customs compliance function field or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage multiple tasks with effective organizational skills and able to establish priorities.
  • Experience performing any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain data for use in maintaining regulatory compliance records.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong computer literacy (including MS Office and FTZ QAD entry/admission filing software)
  • Ability to check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transaction records.
  • Attention to Detail — Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks within specific timeline rules.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

  • Being able to navigate through ERP system – Tecsys Elite and QAD FTZ
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel (including Statistics and Pivot Tables), Access, PowerPoint, Word
  • Experience with warehouse or supply chain environments
  • Understanding of supply chain transportation
  • Ability to conduct/track analytics related to Client performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Clear and Professional diction in English
  • Professional phone etiquette

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to successfully pass all preliminary employment requirements (i.e., background check and drug screen)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS

  • Work is light to medium in nature with frequent walking to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with shippers and employees.
  • Must be able to read at a distance close to the eyes and at arm’s length, with or without correction.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Activities occur within a typical office environment.
  • Hazardous conditions may exist, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and working in high places.
