Job description

This is a part-time role. The client is looking for someone who can dedicate 10-20 hours per week to support their ongoing implementation.
About the Role
We are seeking a Stripe Developer to lead the implementation, integration, and ongoing management of our Stripe platform. This hybrid role combines engineering expertise (APIs, test data, automation) with administrative ownership (configuration, workflows, business process alignment). The ideal candidate has successfully delivered a full Stripe implementation and can act as the subject-matter expert for all payment-related systems and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation & Administration
  • Own the end-to-end implementation of Stripe modules (Payments, Billing, Connect, Subscriptions).
  • Configure workflows for invoicing, recurring billing, chargebacks, and refunds.
  • Manage Stripe accounts, user roles, permissions, and integrations with other systems.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI, GDPR, KYC, and other regulatory requirements.

Engineering & Test Data
  • Design and maintain API integrations between Stripe and internal platforms (CRM, ERP, analytics).
  • Build and manage test data environments to simulate payment flows and edge cases.
  • Automate transaction scenarios for validation and regression testing.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerts to ensure reliability and transparency of payment flows.

Business Process & Operations
  • Translate business process flows (payments, reconciliation, reporting) into Stripe configurations.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Product, and Operations teams to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payment issues, disputes, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Provide internal training, documentation, and ongoing support for Stripe usage.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Stripe Developer/Engineer, including leading at least one Stripe implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of Stripe APIs, webhooks, and modules.
  • Experience with test data creation, automation, and CI/CD testing frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of payment process flows, reconciliation, and dispute management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical and business process issues end-to-end.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Backend development experience (Node.js, Python, or similar).
  • Experience in SaaS, e-commerce, or subscription-based models.
  • Familiarity with finance/accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks) and data tools (SQL).
  • Exposure to compliance standards (PCI, GDPR, KYC).

Soft Skills
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with both technical and business teams.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to document processes and simplify complex workflows.
