Job description

Join us at a pivotal moment as we expand into Reno, Nevada—an emerging high-growth data center market attracting significant hyperscale investment. We’re seeking exceptional talent to build from the ground up and play a defining role in launching a new campus, with relocation support available for the right candidate.

As Site Security Manager, you will own the day-to-day physical security posture of a mission-critical data center campus serving the world’s largest cloud and AI companies. This is a hands‑on leadership role that blends contract guard force oversight, enterprise security technology administration, and hyperscale customer compliance — offering direct visibility with site leadership, customers, and the corporate physical security organization. Unlike narrowly scoped security roles, you will manage the full site security program: people, technology, vendors, and process. Success in this role means a consistently audit‑ready site, a high‑performing contract security team, healthy and fully functional security systems, and rapid, well‑documented incident response.

  • Manage day-to-day physical security operations for the site, serving as the primary on‑site security point of contact for site operations, customers, and corporate security leadership.
  • Oversee the third‑party contract Security Officers, including post orders, staffing and scheduling compliance, training standards, performance metrics/KPIs, and quarterly business reviews with the service provider.
  • Administer the site’s physical access control system (Genetec Security Center – Synergis), including badge issuance and deactivation, access level management, periodic access reviews, and audit support.
  • Manage the video management system (Genetec Security Center – Omnicast), ensuring camera health, coverage, recording integrity, and retention in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Administer key and asset management (Traka) and biometric enrollment systems, maintaining accurate records and enforcing issuance and return procedures.
  • Oversee security systems maintenance vendors and integrators, including service and preventative maintenance SOW compliance, response‑time SLAs, work quality, and escalation of chronic issues.
  • Support customer and regulatory security compliance, including hyperscale customer security standards, lease security requirements, audits, and remediation of findings.
  • Lead site incident response, investigations, and after‑action reporting; maintain incident documentation and produce recurring security metrics and reports.
  • Maintain and continuously improve site security procedures, emergency response plans, and drills; support security scope for construction, fit‑out, and expansion projects, and provide input to security budgets and procurement.
  • Security is a shared responsibility. All employees are required to comply with company security policies and procedures and to help protect company information, systems, and assets in the course of their daily work.
Your Experience and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive physical security operations experience, with at least 2 years in data centers, critical infrastructure, or similarly regulated high‑security environments (required).
  • Demonstrated experience managing third‑party contract security services, including SLAs, post orders, staffing compliance, and vendor performance management (required).
  • Hands‑on experience administering enterprise physical access control and video management systems (required); Genetec Security Center (Synergis access control and Omnicast video) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Traka (or comparable electronic key/asset management systems) and biometric access control platforms preferred.
  • Experience supporting customer or regulatory security audits and compliance frameworks (e.g., hyperscale customer security standards, SOC 2, ISO 27001) preferred.
  • Experience overseeing security systems maintenance programs, including preventative maintenance, service response SLAs, and integrator/vendor management.
  • Strong incident management and investigations experience, including documentation, root‑cause analysis, and executive‑level reporting.
  • Working knowledge of security design and construction practices in mission‑critical facilities (e.g., mantraps, perimeter detection, secure cage/mesh construction) desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; ASIS PSP or CPP certification desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to pass required background screenings and to support on‑call/after‑hours escalation as needed.
What We Offer
  • Full‑time salaried, exempt role: includes performance‑based annual bonus and equity compensation.
  • This is an on‑site role at our Reno, NV data center campus.
  • Annual base salary range: $95,000–$130,000, depending on experience.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance: Includes a $0‑premium medical plan option (employee only option).
  • Flexible Spending Accounts & Health Spending Account: Health & Dependent Care FSA, Limited‑Purpose FSA, and an HSA with a company contribution.
  • Paid time off: 120 hours of annual paid time off, 11 paid holidays, 7 sick days, and 8 hours of volunteer time annually.
  • Retirement savings: 401(k) retirement savings plan with a company contribution.
  • Life and disability insurance: Company‑paid life and disability insurance.
  • Parental leave: Paid parental leave for eligible new parents, available after meeting service requirements.
  • Employee assistance program (EAP): Confidential support services for employees and their families, including counseling, financial guidance, and legal resources.
  • Educational assistance: Company-sponsored educational reimbursement for approved courses and certifications.
  • Employee support & discounts: Access to company-sponsored discount programs and employee well‑being resources.
